Kerala Houseboats are country boats that were used in the early days for the transport of goods from the isolated interior villages of Kerala Backwater. Now these kettuvalloms are back again as a major tourist attraction as a modern moving boat house that is kerala houseboats. Kerala houseboats size vary from, about to 95 feet feet in length and a width of around 13 feet to in the middle for one bedroom houseboat and, big houseboats with up 107 feet long and up to 19 feet wide. The materials that go into the making are all local and Eco friendly bamboo poles, coconut fiber ropes, bamboo mats, coir carpets etc. Kerala houseboats have fully furnished single double triple and five bedrooms with sundeck, private balcony with comfortable chairs, kitchen and toilet with WC.


Motor Boats

A motor boat is a completely different type of boat from a house boat. It is commonly used for sightseeing and water transportation from one location to another, particularly by tourists with limited time. A half-hour speedboat ride to the neighbouring island of Pathiramanal reveals a diverse assortment of unique migratory birds from all over the world. Tourists are welcome to rent the motor boat at any time, but not at night. It comes in a variety of sizes, such as two to ten people, with a boat capacity of ten people, ten to twenty, and so on... This is not a guided tour; nevertheless, tourists can hire a boat just for themselves.


Shikkara

The Shikkara ride in the backwaters of Alleppey (Alappuzha) in Kerala is an excellent option. Shikkara Boats is comparatively small in size than houseboats and motorboats but it is really beautiful handicraft work in elegant Kerala style. Shikkara boats are mainly used for sightseeing. It is available in limited budget and mainly used for sightseeing in per hour basis in much cheaper rate than Houseboats and Motorboats. Its seating arrangement is very comfortable for the travellers as they are using cushion chairs. All the sides of a Shikkara boat is open for best view for sightseeing and therefore the travel will be much relaxing even in the afternoon.


HOUSEBOATS ITINERARY
  • Guests can check in at 12:00 hrs, we will welcome you with welcome drink and start cruise after a short briefing introduction, relax and enjoy the canals, rivers and backwater, at 13:00 hrs houseboat will stop for lunch, with lavish menu of traditional Kerala cuisine. (if your require any special meals like main food in north Indian or food without spice etc it has to be informed in advance).
  • 14:00 hrs it will continue its cruise covering beautiful rivers and canals with palm trees and small houses near to it , villages paddy fields, churches, etc, you can also buy fresh prawns or crab or karimeen from local fishermen and give to our chef , who will prepare it for your dinner.
  • 17:30 hrs The houseboat will anchor (till next day morning 08: 00) most of the time we will stop near the land because, you can also get a chance to go out and walk along the riverside or villages and come back, Evening Enjoy your Dinner and leave all world behind you and have a good sleep in your floating paradise.
  • Bed tea / Coffee will be provided, enjoy the sunrise and breath polution free air. At 08:30 hrs Breakfast which includes bread, butter, jam together with Iddily & Dosa etc.
  • 09.00 hrs is the time to check out and end of services in houseboat and leave houseboat with an ever lasting beautiful memory.

  • » Meal plan applied on APAI / full board basis (ie; inclusive of breakfast, lunch & dinner).
  • » The Menu is normally fixed. Any changes to be intimated in advance.
  • » Check in: 12 noon, Check out: 9 AM. One stay is for 21 hrs and not for 24 hrs.
  • » Beverages & any cook to order will be charged extra on actual.
  • » The boat will be anchored in the lake or canal during night & will not cruise after 17.30 hrs.
  • » Air conditioners in the bedroom will be switched on only from 9 PM to 6 AM.
  • » Incase of A/C failure, Non A/C deluxe houseboat tariff will be charged.
